Whether you’re in need of a quick bite or in the mood to enjoy an evening of fine dining, you can visit Brasserie Capitale or neighboring Café à Coté, to enjoy the casual elegance that embodies French spirit referred to as la charme de la vie (the charm of life).

By combining superior quality ingredients and a commitment to providing the exceptional guest experience, we transform the French concept of a traditional brasserie –a full service restaurant with an extended drink list –into Sacramento’s newest food and drink destination.

“We’re offer more than just food and drink,” says Owner Aziz Bellarbi-Salah, “We’re providing our guests with all the charm and romance associated with the French way of living. Whether you just want to come into the café and grab a quick salad or sandwich to go sit in Capitol Park, or you want to sit in the Brasserie and enjoy an extended dining experience, we want you to have that. That is the charm of life.”

Both Café à Coté and Brasserie Capitale are a product of the imagination of Aziz and his father, Reda Bellarbi. The Bellarbis have been a bedrock in the Sacramento restaurant scene for more than 20 years. Reda opened the doors of the iconic Aïoli Bodega Española (1800 L Street in Midtown) in August 1994 and The Grand Wine Bar (1600 L Street) in February 2007.

We have banquet facilities that seat up 120 people located on the 15th floor with beautiful panoramic views of Sacramento and surrounding. Available for Weddings, Receptions, Mixers and Meetings. We also host many private events on our café as well as semi private cabins within the restaurant. Larger party sizes are possible in these areas as well.

Café à Coté is open Monday through Friday, serving coffee, espresso beverages and an assortment of French pastries. The Café serves up a selection of fresh made to-go salads and sandwiches in addition to a full sit down lunch menu.

Brasserie Capitale is Monday through Saturday, offering the hearty taste of traditional French cuisine, from the country and the city, featuring only the freshest and highest quality ingredients.

The Café and the Brasserie, both are conveniently located in Downtown Sacramento at 1201 K Street, one block from both the State Capitol and Sacramento Convention center for lunch and dinner service.
